How Vahan Connect handles your personal data

If you book an installation. Your name and mobile number, which we verify with a one-time SMS code, and your email if you give it. The installation address (street, area, city, district, state, PIN code and landmark) and, only if you choose to share it, a map location. Your vehicle's registration number and type, and its chassis and engine numbers if you provide them. Your bookings, appointments and payments.

If you work with us as an installer. Your name, mobile number, email if you give it, and a password we store only as a one-way hash. Your address, education, experience and occupation. Photographs of both sides of your Aadhaar card and driving licence, which we use to verify who you are. The jobs you are offered and accept, the installation photos you take, and your location at the moment you complete a job. Your working hours and whether you are available for work.

Devices we install. The device's identifiers, such as its IMEI, and after fitting its recent position and connection status, which we read from our tracking server to confirm the device works.

Technical records. Sign-in sessions and, in our security logs, the IP address and browser or app details of actions taken in the service. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers.

• To take bookings, schedule appointments and carry out installations.
• To verify installers before their accounts are activated, and to offer them jobs in their area.
• To confirm a device was fitted at the right place and is working.
• To take payments and keep accounting records.
• To contact you about your booking or account and answer your questions.
• To keep the service secure, prevent fraud and meet our legal obligations.

• The installer assigned to your booking sees your name, mobile number, address and vehicle details so they can do the job.
• Our SMS provider (MSG91) receives your mobile number to send one-time sign-in codes.
• Our payment gateway (Razorpay) processes your payment. We receive a payment reference, never your card or UPI details.
• Our tracking server receives the identifiers and positions of the devices we install.
• Companies that host and run our systems, only to provide the service to us.
• Government authorities, when the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal data.

Everything travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes. Installers' identity documents are kept in private storage that only authorised administrators can open, and staff access to personal data is limited by role.

• Account details are kept while the account is open.
• When an installer account is deleted, its identity documents, profile and contact details are deleted straight away.
• Records of bookings, installations and payments are kept as long as needed for warranty, disputes and our tax and accounting obligations. After an installer's account is deleted, those records no longer name them.
• Security logs are kept as long as needed to protect the service and meet legal obligations.

Installers can delete their account in the app, from Profile → Delete my account. Anyone, including customers and installers without the app, can ask us to delete their account on our account deletion page, which explains what is deleted and what we have to keep.

Vahan Connect is meant for adults. It is not directed at anyone under 18.

When we change this policy we update the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we let you know through the app or this website.
